At Inspired Spaces Landscape & Design we can take care of weeding, edging, trimming, mulching, fertilization, pre-emergent, leaf removal, and snow removal. These services can be performed individually or packaged to suit your needs. The following is a brief description of the services and why they are done.

Weeding

• Some weeds will not easily die by just pulling them.
• Spraying may be required.
• Knowing what is a weed and what is not.

Edging of beds

Deep bed edge helps hold mulch in as well as stop grass from growing into the beds. Also aesthetically pleasing.

Trimming of plant material at appropriate times

All plants are different just as all people are different. Is there right and wrong ways to trim plant material? Yes, but to get the look that the homeowner ultimately wants there are sometimes grey areas. The thing to remember about trimming plant material is the time of year in which the plant flowers. Knowing when to trim your plant material may make the difference on how the plant performs when it flowers, as well as the overall health of the plant.

Mulching

We install mulch for multiple reasons:

• One is aesthetics (because it looks good)
• The second reason is weed control. It helps keep weed seeds from germinating in the soil. It is not an end all to weeds.
• The third reason is that it helps to hold moisture in the soil.

Fertilization

Installation of appropriate fertilizer for each plant at appropriate times.

• Acid fertilizer for you acid loving plants. (Rhododendron, Azalea, Pieris, Hydrangea cultivar, Holly, etc.)
• General all purpose fertilizer with micronutrients for landscape trees and shrubs.
• Special fertilization of plant material with specific goals in mind.

Pre-emergent

• Snap shot pre-emergent stops weed seeds from growing in your landscape.
• When used with mulch this helps keep weeds out of landscape beds.
• Pre-emergent will not stop the growth of weeds already in the landscape, in those cases the weeds should be pulled or sprayed.

Leaf Removal

• Removal of fallen leaves and debris in fall.
• We bring all landscape waste to a local recycling plant to be turned into compost, soil, or mulch.

Snow Removal

• Pushing snow from driveways and parking lots with bobcat or snow plow.
• Salting
• Shoveling

Designing for a homeowner who wants to do the installation themselves or your design, for us to install.

Whether we are designing for homeowners or small business we have the same goal in mind. Our goal in design is not to design what we personally want but to design a functional landscape that has been inspired through the client’s wants and needs. Not only should it be aesthetically pleasing to the eye, but also unique to the client and seamlessly integrated into the existing surrounding.

What inspires a design? To name a few.

• Family- attachment to certain plant material.
• Architecture
• Travel

Our goal is to create additional living space outside the walls of the home, an intimate area for small gatherings and parties, or a casual place to relax after spending a hard day at work. The term outdoor room is different for all clients. One Client may want a 250 square foot patio and another may need a 1000 square food sheltered area for larger gathering. Anything from decks and patios to multi-terraced patios with seating walls and lighting.

Curb appeal and functionality

• Landscape installation can be used for curb appeal to soften the architecture of the home. It can also set your home apart from all of the other homes in the neighborhood that may look somewhat alike.
• When selling your home touching up the mulch and adding annuals may help add some inexpensive appeal.
• Landscaping can also be used for screening unwanted neighbors or building.
• It can also be used to add beauty and comfort to your home.
• Landscape installation can be used functionally to retain hillsides and level yard space.
